WORK EXPERIENCES
2015 – present, MASSIMO CIANI 3DCG, Osaka (JP), founder
Since 2015, I have been the founder of MASSIMO CIANI 3DCG, specializing in the production of high-quality, photorealistic 3D visualizations. While actively contributing to rendering projects in Japan for clients such as Studio Curanzio, Tofu Architects, AE5 Partners, Mattch Architects, my focus extends beyond borders. Notably, I have collaborated on various interior projects with esteemed Italian and Japanese industrial design firms like Molteni, Arflex, etc. The core emphasis is on delivering cost-effective 3D visualization services with exceptional photorealism.
2014, Venice University IUAV – MADI master, Venice (IT), as Professor – www.masterad.it
Taught 3D visualization to 20 students, focusing on artistic and technical aspects, with a special emphasis on the FELIX render cloud platform. For more details, visit www.masterad.it.
1997 – 2014, STACK STUDIOS srl, Siena – Genova (IT), founder
Founder and CEO of Stack Studios, where I held diverse responsibilities, including (i) project management, (ii) coordination of working groups for rendering and video production, (iii) hands-on experience as a 3D visualization expert, (iv) staff training, (v) managing customer relations, and (vi) software concept developer (vii) Software architect.
Over the fifteen-year collaboration, I spearheaded projects for numerous prestigious firms in architecture and industrial design, including extensive work with Zaha Hadid (involved in over a hundred projects), Arata Isozaki, Norman Foster & Partners, Studio Libeskind, Asymptote, Winter Olympic Agency Turin 2006, NBBJ, and more.
From 2003 to 2014, I conceptualised and managed the development of the 3D cloud rendering software, Felix Render, which I currently use as my preferred rendering solution. For more details, visit www.felixrender.com
1995, Various works with architects, Milan (IT), 3DCG operator, and model creation
I worked with several architectural studios in the Milan area, serving as a 3D operator and contributing to the creation of architectural models.
1987 – 1995, Various summer jobs

Since 2004, I have been involved in the production of renderings and videos for hundreds of projects of architectural firm Zaha Hadid Ltd. Some of the most notable include the London Aquatics Centre for the Olympic Games in London 2012, Citylife in Milan, Mobile Art Chanel Contemporary Art, Dubai Financial Market, Szervita Square Tower, and ThyssenKrupp Headquarters.
As a project manager, coordinator, and 3D operator, I oversaw the production of renderings and animations for eight projects related to the Winter Olympic Games in Turin 2006. I served as the director for video shooting from a helicopter, utilizing a stabilized Wescam system to capture footage around the eight project areas. Additionally, I directed the video shooting from the ground using a steadicam. I was responsible for the production of camera matching, seamlessly integrating 3D projects into the video shoot.
The projects included:
- Palahockey by Arata Isozaki
- Palavela by Gae Aulenti
- Oval Lingotto
- Palaghiaccio Pinerolo
- Olympic Village in Turin
- The tracks for bobsled
- Stadium for ski jump
- A new stadium in Torre Pellice.

I conceptualized and managed FELIX Render, a cloud-based rendering platform available at www.felixrender.com. FELIX Render pioneered cloud computing for 3D rendering systems, catering to applications in industrial design, architecture, and entertainment.
During this period, I contributed to the production of videos and renderings for a competition, and my role extended to coordinating and operating in a 3D capacity. Notably, the project was the winning entry.
CityLife, spanning an extensive 366,000 square meters, was developed by renowned architects Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki, and Daniel Libeskind.

I played a pivotal role as a project manager, coordinator, and 3D operator in the production of rendering images for the sale of luxury residences. The project focused on revitalizing one of the most pristine areas of Capri Island, involving the restoration of an Astronomical Observatory. This endeavor included the rehabilitation of pre-existing buildings within a constrained landscape, reimagined by one of the leading contemporary architects, Massimiliano Fuksas.
